Full-service modular nursery build within an active primary school, from groundworks to handover, including an 8-bay modular complex with integrated outdoor play canopy.
VVS Group was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive, modern nursery facility within the grounds of an active primary school. The project required a seamless blend of speed, safety, and high-quality finishes, utilising modular construction to minimise disruption to the school's daily operations.
The school needed a significant space increase for their early years provision but had a tight timeline and limited site access. The solution required a full-service approach, taking the project from a raw plot of land to a fully functioning, regulated educational environment.
Our team managed the entire lifecycle of the build, ensuring every technical and aesthetic detail was met. This included full groundworks and infrastructure preparation with excavation, drainage systems, and precision-engineered foundations. We carried out the precise installation and stitching of 8 individual modular units to create a single, cohesive building, followed by a complete mechanical and electrical fit-out with energy-efficient heating, ventilation, lighting, and security systems tailored for a childcare environment.
The internal works comprised comprehensive first and second-fix carpentry, including internal partitioning, bespoke storage, and fire-rated door sets. High-durability commercial flooring was installed throughout, complemented by a full professional decorating package using child-safe, wipeable finishes. We also constructed a dedicated outdoor playground area featuring a high-quality integrated canopy, providing a versatile all-weather outdoor classroom.
The result is a bright, airy, and highly functional nursery that provides a stimulating environment for young learners. By combining the speed of modular construction with the quality of traditional internal finishing, we delivered a permanent-feel building in a fraction of the time of a traditional build, achieving full compliance with Ofsted and Building Regulations throughout.
